The main purpose of this scheme was to create a dedicated cycle lane to enable cyclists to travel safely along a one-way road both ways.

The works involved paving, drainage and kerbing works, including the resurfacing of part of the carriageway roundabout.

The scheme was completed on time and to budget, and now enables safe travelling for cyclists from the Barbican area along the main route to Plymouth Hoe.
