West Hoe Pier, Plymouth

West Hoe Pier is an enclosed harbour with walls comprised of very strong dressed limestone block masonry facings with hearting material comprising of variable fill. The pier is a Grade II listed structure.

The remedial works consisted of repointing the harbour walls working off a ‘Giraffe’ Access Platform and using pressure pointing equipment beneath the water line and traditional lime mortars above.

Rebuilding of damaged steps and landings with salvaged materials from the sea bed working off a designed scaffold access and with the aid of a ‘Spider’ crane.
