This complex and compact site provided great challenges during construction. Due to the nature of ground conditions, pile foundations had to be installed to a depth of 12 metres, which in itself proved difficult as the site abounds a busy public road and residential housing.

Works were undertaken during school term, so a traffic management system and public walkway had to be put in place ensuring safety and minimum disruption which required careful liaison with both the school and the local community.

The building provides new facilities including an assembly/sports hall, teaching facilities and for the first time in the school’s history a commercial kitchen which provides freshly made meals for the children and staff.
